I'll never forget the first time I went to B and B Kustom Kennels' website and read, "The dog kennels your pup's been begging for... because wire kennels are ugly." It was as if they retrieved this sentence from the fictional "kennel design sermon" I've been preaching from for years! LOL. Wire kennels look awkward in a well-designed space. Your home or office decor should reflect your style and show your personality. If you are a member of the "Wire Kennel Congregation," and are wanting to be released from the eye sore in your home and directed to a better solution you have come to the right place! My dog Abuu is a special part of my family. He's the canine version of secret service, he follows me everywhere. (I haven't been to the bathroom alone in five years!) Abuu adds comedy and happiness to my life so his space has to bring value and reflect how he is valued in our home. B and B Kustom Kennels doggie dens are custom made pieces that could be used as a focal point in a space. The doggie dens work as a retreat for Abuu and a beautiful console for me to add mirrors, lamps, artwork and vases on top of. Once Abuu is ready to share me with another dog, then we can get started customizing our Double Doggie Den!

I'm so fortunate I got a chance to interview Bethany, co-owner of B and B Kustom Kennels. Take a look at the exciting things they are up to and how you can begin customizing a doggie den for your home or office.

1. What inspired you to create B&B Kustom Kennels?

Our two little fur-babies Gracie and Pyper! Well, to be completely honest, Brody enjoys doing some woodworking and knew how much I hated (Bethany) the wire crates sticking out in our house. After creating a few different designs, he decided to build me the Christmas present that would change our lives forever! I guess you could say that the Doggie Den was a Christmas Miracle.

2. What is your favorite kennel and why?

The Double! It's rare to find something that meets the needs of a dog family of two. This was the original idea and the source of our inspiration.

3. What new projects are you all working on?

One of the most important recent developments is our breaking ground on a new facility and headquarters. This will allow us to move out of our tiny garage and into a 2000+ sq/ft. space. With this addition, our process will become much more efficient allowing our lead time to drop significantly! Getting the kennels to the clients faster is always better! We're also in the process of hiring a few more folks for our shop. We're both really excited for the future.

4. What can we expect in the future from B&B Kustom Kennels? Expect that our product will continue to maintain the hand-made, built in the USA feel. Quality and value are important to us, along with making dogs wag their tail! As we continue to grow we plan to add additional stain options that meet the needs of our customer base. Continuing to grow without diminishing the customer experience and approval is the plan moving forward!
